My PLE and how it works for me
My personal learning environment has actually helped me a lot in terms of organization. I am a big time organization freak and i have to everything perfect. So netvibes is awesome for me because it lets me everything at my fingertips without having a bunch of windows open, so i can just scroll down and have different applications all in the same view. I also like the aggregator though i still do not know exactly how to make it function very well. But i love the idea of being able to pull in different points of view on different topics and keep them all in organized groups. These two applications are probably my main use when it comes to my personal learning environment and intend to expand on them and use them throughout my everyday use. I just have to keep up with the changes in certain applications so i know what works best as time passes.
Netvibes really allows us to organize everything exactly how we want it, which is really nice to me as well. I love having things organized so i know where everything is. I’d really like to be introduced to more sites like these.
I really liked netvibes as well. The aggregator, to me, seems a little more sloppier tho. Sometimes a specific post for which i added that blog gets lost in all the newer posts they make. And a lot of times the newer posts seem less relevant, so it feels a little less useful, harder to organize, and harder find what you originally saved.
I feel the same way about organization. I love that it’s like a personal website/domain, we can actually customize to a pretty good extent and pick what we want. These apps are great for everday use, I use mine to check updates on certain sites (cssmania for instance, about new and beautiful css made websites).
