Chris, I think this is a really good idea for an app. These sites seem to work well to give you a better idea of what you want to do. I found out the same was true for me while doing my research. I found sites that did similar things to what I want to do, but definitely not everything I want to do together in one place. I did find a lot of good content, and it helped to see sites that did things that I don't want to do (design and content).

i was reading the first site, and at first glance i thought, why the heck would you not put your navigation on every page?? users will get lost! but reading it through, it makes sense - the use of breadcrumbs is definitely the smart way to go. real estate on a mobile site is precious, especially in phones that don't have a full screen like iPhones.

the last site - search engine guide has really useful information. i'll definitely be referring to that one.

Chris, these are really good sites. I found a hack that would help make already made sites mobile friendly by taking out the styling and images if the user was on a cell phone. Your sites, however, help with information before you begin building which I think is invaluable. The last site, made some good points about what to think about as far as user needs are concerned. I will be referencing this when I build my site. Thanks.

I really like the last article you wrote about, the "How to Simply Create Your Own Mobile Website." It looks like there is some great information in that article. I like how much the author emphasized that planning is essential. That is a really good point. I'm interested to see how your mobile application turns out... maybe you will inspire me to do the same!

I found some similar information about other schools using the capstone projects as assignments that take everything the student learns and applies it to one project. In one of the course descriptions I found, the final project could be a performance, artwork, etc. depending on what major you were studying.

It makes sense.

I admit I think it would be a ton of fun to do a capstone project with everyone as a group or another student. I like you definition of what a capstone is. I have mostly been looking at it as a showcase of our talents rather than a play to show who we were, I had put that more on our portfolio site. But I think that if you capstone doesn't show who you are and what you are willing to contribute to the community, then you are not putting enough of yourself into your project.

That is a really interesting concept for a capstone project that you mentioned in the beginning of your post. I have always wondered what it would be like to work with a fellow student on one of our projects, drawing on each other strengths. At the Art Institute of Phoenix, we had a project where we were essentially acted as each others' clients. We had to create a website and business plan based on the input from our "client." We didn't completely work together on the project, but it different than usual in that we had specific objectives to follow that we didn't just make up ourselves.

It will be hard to pull together all the skills we've learned into one website, but I think it will be an interesting challenge.

You go chris! Start looking at how your new technologies are similar to other technolgies such as Actionscript 3.0 , Javascript, and Java.

This will help you learn faster.

Very nice site. I have seen it before, but not really gotten the chance to move around through it. I think that the setup/navigation is really good. I like that you have a page dedicated to each topic and with the layout it keeps the information interesting and fun.
